The High Line
Today there was no school, and mom did not go to work.
Nick put on his calendar LIRR to New York City. Mom said, "okay, I will take you to New York City today. Let's do something new, we can walk the High Line."
We found the entrance on 34th Street and Tenth Avenue.
The High Line is a walkway that used to be train tracks.
We passed subway trains in the yard.
There were nice views of the Hudson River.
And lots of views of buildings.
Finally we got to the end, we were at 12th Street! Mom said, "wow, that was a lot of walking, it did not feel like such a long walk."
Then we went down to the street, had lunch and walked back to Penn Station and went home.
It was a nice day in New York City.

Friday Night Dinner
Last Friday, mom came home from work and dad was making Nick dinner. Nick was sitting patiently at the counter, looking at his calendar while dad was cooking.

Christmas Tree Outside
It is January, and Christmas is done. We have to get ready for the new year, it is time to go back to school and get back to our routines.
Nick had on his calendar that the Christmas tree goes outside in January. Mom said, "yes, on January 3 we will take the lights and ornaments off the tree and put it outside."
The night before, when mom put Nick to bed, mom found Nick going to sleep on the couch. He wanted one more might looking at our beautiful tree.
On Saturday, mom took the lights and ornaments off and put the tree on the curb. Men from the town will come collect the tree and grind it into mulch.
While Nick is sad that the Christmas decorations are back in the attic, mom said it is okay to leave the snowmen out since it is still winter. Nick started to decorate for Valentine's day, and added little hearts to the snowman's twig arms.

Happy New Year!
It is New Year's again, now it is 2015. Once again, mom bought Nick special glasses to celebrate the new year.
This is Nick, on the couch, on the morning of the new year.
This is Nick's cousins Henry and Katie, on New Year's eve! Mom bought their glasses too!
