Nick's Newest Bed

Nick has a small bedroom.  We have bought Nick beds in the past, but Nick breaks them because he likes to jump on the bed.

Last week dad made Nick a strong bed, now Nick has a bed that is up high with dressers underneath, and there is room to store his trampoline on the side, so Nick can play on the floor and work on his pictures.

This is Nick last weekend, before dad put the dresser drawers underneath.  Nick likes to play his YouTube videos and then watch them from his new bed.

This is Nick today.  Now the dresser drawers are in place and the trampoline is on the side.  Nick can take out the trampoline when he wants to jump, or put it away when he wants to do his artwork on the floor.

Surfer's Healing

This week, Nick's class took a field trip to the beach for the Surfer's Healing event.

Nick's surf pal taught him how to ride the waves.

 And how to stand up on the surf board.

Nick got a new yellow t-shirt to remember the event.

Mom told Nick, "you have not participated in this event since you were little, I'm glad you had a good time."

Nick's own Water Fountain

All summer long, Nick has been collecting balls, tubes, rafts, and other floating toys for his swimming pool.  Now Nick has the best toy of all, a fountain that sprays water up into the sky!

When dad first put the fountain in the pool,  Nick had to learn how to turn it on.  He started to figure it out all by himself.

The water jumped higher and higher in the pool, it was so pretty to look at, and it sounded like rain.

When the sun went down the fountain took on the night light, and all the tubes and toys floating in the pool looked like beautiful pool beds in the water floating around the fountain.

Nick's Homemade Water Park

Every week, when we go to the store, Nick buys an inflatable pool toy.  This weekend he assembled some of his pool toys with a sprinkler on the porch.  There is a slide, a bed, toss rings and tubes.  The sprinkler underneath sprays water on all the toys while Nick plays with them.

We call it Nick's Homemade Water Park!

Birthday Present from Liza

Today Liza came to visit and she gave Nick a belated birthday present, it was a new t-shirt.

There are three images of sunglasses, one looking at New York City, one looking at mountains, and one looking at the Eiffel Tower.

Nick loves new t-shirts, he put in on right away and looked happy wearing it!

Birthday Boy

Today is Nick's birthday, Nick is 16 years old! 

To celebrate, we took Nick to The Outback Steakhouse, one of Nick's favorite restaurants.  Mom gave Nick a pair of American flag sunglasses as a present, Nick liked them a lot, he wore them in the restaurant and he was all smiles!

The Gonzalez Family Reunion

Last Saturday, mom told Nick, "there is no AHRC today, we are going to visit mom's cousins and have a family reunion, just like the big parties we used to have when nana was with us.

Here is a picture of the family taken at the hotel.

We had the party at cousin Lina's house.  There was a big pool and everyone went swimming.

Nick liked the waterfalls in the pool.

Grammy put Ryder on the swing and he had a big smile on his face.

When things got too loud, Nick retreated to the hammock.  He liked to sit there quietly, rocking back and forth.

Then we called Nick back to the party for birthday cake.  Grammy and Nick used to share their cake with nana but now she is gone. Little cousin Lilly has a birthday a few days before Nick, so now we have a new name on the cake.

When the party was over mom said to Nick, "Thank you for being such a good boy.  I had a great time seeing the family again!"
