Grammy's Old Building

On Friday night Nick showed mommy and daddy a note he printed from the computer.

Those were a lot of words! Nick is happy that spring is coming, and he is always talking about visiting grammy's old building in New Rochelle.

Nick also showed mommy a picture he printed from the computer. It is people riding their bikes across a bridge. It is the Pelham Bay Bridge, and that is the bridge that we used drive on to get to grammy's building. Mommy can't believe that Nick still remembers the way to grammy's house.

Nick travels the route all the time on Google Maps, so that must be why he remembers!

A San Francisco Shirt and The Golden Gate Bridge

Today, Nick went through mommy's closet and found something she had hidden. It was a box with the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge inside. Grammy had given it to Nick on his birthday, and mommy was saving it as a project to do together.

But Nick found the box and opened it up. He took all the pieces out and put them on the floor. Daddy decided he and Nick would build the bridge together.

When the bridge was all done, mommy reminded Nick that he had a shirt from San Francisco. Aunt Nicole lives there, and a few weeks ago she sent a package with a shirt from Chinatown in San Francisco.

Then Nick looked at his new bridge wearing his new shirt. Mommy told Nick "you are so lucky that Grammy and Aunt Nicole bought you such nice presents!"

The Golden Gate Bridge

Do you know what the Golden Gate Bridge looks like?

Nick loves pictures of bridges and he has lots of pictures of the Golden Gate Bride. Sometimes bridges can look the same but this bridge is special because it is red.

Nick's Aunt Nicole lives far away in California, and she has been on the Golden Gate Bridge many times. Last year, for Christmas, she sent Nick a book with The Golden Gate Bridge on the cover and Nick looks at the book all the time. On Friday, Mommy and Nick went to visit Therea for Speech. Theresa loves Nick's paintings, and since we brought the Bridge Book with us, she asked Nick if he wanted to paint the bridge.

Nick did good taking in saying "yes," and then asked for the different color paints. Theresa held up the book so Nick could see the picture.
