Snowmen All Done

Yesterday Nick was sad, he looked out the window and saw that the heads fell off his little snowmen. Nick asked mommy to help, so mommy put them back together. But then on Sunday, it was a warm day and the snowmen melted away. There is nothing left but their hats and scarves.


The snow was also melting on the porch. Nick kept going outside to move snow from the porch. Mommy gave Nick a broom so he did not have to use his hands.

Now the porch is all clean thanks to Nick sweeping with the broom. We sat at the window and looked at the melting snow. Mommy reminded Nick that spring is coming, and we will see flowers. Then in the summer Nick will have a pool. In the autumn leaves change color and fall off the trees. When mommy started to talk about winter Nick said, "December christmas tree presents!"

Happy New Year

This year we did something different. Mommy and Nick went to Henry's house for New Years instead of Christmas.

Henry was very excited because he was allowed to stay up late and watch the ball drop. He bought us glasses and hats to wear for the celebration!

Nick did not stay up and mommy barely made it. This is a picture of Henry, Aunt Stefani and Uncle Ned right before midnight. After the ball dropped we blew our horns and said "Happy New Year!" and gave each other kisses.

The next day we went to the park to go snow tubing. Aunt Stefani and Uncle Ned got Nick got a new red tube as a Christmas present because they remember how much he liked it last year.

When we came home grammy was taking care of Nick's little cousin, baby Katie.

The next day it was time to go home. Nick played on his computer while mommy packed up our things in the car.

Then we took the long drive home. Nick was a good boy in the car. When we got to the bridge Nick kept telling mommy which way to drive. Mommy said, "I know you are good at GoogleMaps, but don't worry, mommy knows the way home."

We got home in time to have dinner. Nick was happy to see his own Christmas tree and play on his own computer....and sleep in his own bed!

Lots of Snow!

A few weeks ago Nick was asking for snow. Mommy said, "I can't make snow, we have to wait." Well, on Sunday night we got lots of snow! Mommy and Nick put on coats and hats and went outside in to play in the snow.

Nick took the brush out of the car and helped to clean the windows, but the snow was so heavy it hardly helped.

The next day we opened the curtains and there was so much snow we could not believe it. The snow drifts went half way up the window.

After breakfast we put on coats and went outside to play. Nick was so happy to play in the snow, he was running all around the front yard.

I Want Snow!

A few days ago we got some snow. It was not a lot, just enough to cover the sidewalk and the trees. Nick was so happy when he saw that it was snowing, he kept opening up the window and putting his hand out to catch some!

But the next day was not cold enough, and the snow was all gone. Nick was sad. After school he asked McKenzie for snow. And when mommy came home from work he asked mommy for snow.

When mommy and Nick went to the store Nick wanted to buy shovels and brushes to clean the car. Mommy said we don't need them but Nick said, "I want snow."

Nick also looked at pictures on the computer where he was playing in snow. These are some of the pictures.

Mommy said, "I know you love to play in the snow. Hopefully it will snow soon and Nick can go out and play!"

Best in Snow

There was no school today. Today is not the weekend and it is not a holiday. Today is Monday and we are supposed to go to school but we got a lot of snow in the night time and when Nick woke up mommy said there would be no school today. Nick looked out the window and said "snow" and mommy said, "yes, it snowed all night while you were sleeping."

We looked out the window together. Daddy was outside shoveling. Mommy wanted to make Nick breakfast but Nick took his boots out of the closet and took his coat off the hook. Mommy said "okay, you can go outside and play in the snow." Nick was so happy, he had a big smile on his face. It took a long time to put on snowpants and sweatshirt, scarf, hat and gloves but we did it. Nick was all dressed up and mommy opened the door and Nick ran outside to play in the snow.

Nick had a great time outside in the snow. When he came back into the house he had to take all the clothes off before he could play. His boots and pants had snow on them and there was a lot of snow on the floor. Mommy hung up all the clothes and daddy made Nick french toast for breakfast.

At dinner time mommy made Nick chicken and rice and peas. Mommy did not even have to bring Nick to the table, he came and sat down the first time mommy said "Nick, come to the table and eat chicken." While we were eating mommy said "let's hope there will be school tomorrow." Nick wrinkled his forehead and looked at mommy with a serious face, but he did not say any words.

Snow on Monday

Today is Monday but there was no school. It is a special day called a holiday and Nick stayed home with mommy.

When we woke up we saw that it snowed last night. The grass and trees and sidewalks were covered with white snow. We also had company today, Grandma and Grandpa came to see us. They brought Nick a present; sticker books and an Elmo sign. When they left we stood at the door and took their picture.

After Grandma and Grandpa left mommy took Nick outside to shovel snow, but Nick did not want to help. In fact, Nick did not want mommy to shovel at all. He tried to take the shovel away and said "no! no!" Mommy told Nick we have to shovel so people can walk and be safe. If we do not shovel people may slip and fall down. Finally Nick let mommy do her work, but he was very serious and would not help.
