Sunday Brunch, Dinner, and Ice Cream

On Sunday, we had no place to go so we stayed home and had a lazy day.

Dad and Nick ate brunch together.  Nick read over his schedule while he was eating his waffles.
Mom and Nick had dinner together.  Mom made Nick chicken, pasta and broccoli to eat.
After dinner, mom took Nick to Baskin Robbins for ice cream.  The ladies behind the counter were very happy to see Nick again since we do not go there in the winter, but now spring is coming.

Nick sat at a table in front of the shop so he could eat his ice cream and look out the window.  Nick also liked looking up at the aerial photograph of Long Beach after Hurricane Sandy.

Happy Birthday Mom

Last Friday was mom's birthday.

When mom came home from work, Nick gave mom a birthday card that he made at school.
And Nick went to the garden center with dad and bought flowers to plant in the garden.  These are assorted pansies.
These are red, orange and white Ranunculus.
And mom's favorite flowers, yellow and red tulips!

Mom said, "thank you for the flowers, hopefully spring will come soon and we can plant them in the garden.

FaceTime with Mom

Last weekend, mom was far away in Massachusetts.

We talked every night on the computer.  Nick had a big smile on his face!
As the days went by Nick was still happy and making silly faces.
But as the trip got longer, Nick got sad.  He wanted mom to come home.

Mom said, "don't be sad, mom will be home in two days."

Wicked - The Broadway Musical

Today mom and dad took Nick to New York City, we went to see the Theatre Development Fund's sponsored performance of Wicked, a musical on Broadway.

Mom showed Nick pictures of the show from the website.

It was nice to walk in the city streets again.
Dad and Nick posed for this picture in front of the sign.
Nick did a great job sitting in the theatre and watching the show quietly.  At the end he was standing up clapping for the actors as they took their bow.

Mom and dad told Nick that he did a great job, we were very proud of him and had a great together.
